Health & Safety Week 2026 at Winoa

Safety Is My Choice

At Winoa, Health and Safety are more than priorities: they are a shared responsibility. Our vision, “Safety is my Choice,” reminds us that safety must come first, before any task, at every moment and on every site whether at Winoa facilities or at customer locations.

Each year, Winoa organizes Health & Safety Week to encourage employees around the world to reflect on risks, share best practices and strengthen our safety culture. Through interactive games, practical workshops and team discussions, this initiative makes safety awareness more engaging and helps turn important messages into everyday habits.

Learning Through Games and Practical Activities.

During Health & Safety Week, teams took part in a range of activities, each designed to address a specific aspect of safety or personal well-being. By combining practical demonstrations, interactive challenges and awareness sessions, employees had the opportunity to learn, exchange experiences and reflect on how their daily choices can help prevent accidents.

Fire extinguisher demonstrations

Practical activities involving fire extinguishers helped raise awareness of fire prevention and familiarize participants with fire-fighting equipment. These sessions highlighted the importance of understanding potential hazards and knowing how to approach fire safety responsibly.

See and Be Seen

The “See and Be Seen” activity focused on visibility and awareness of our surroundings. It highlighted the importance of being able to see others and being visible to them, helping participants reflect on how visibility can influence safety and contribute to preventing dangerous situations.

5 for Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The “5 for Safety” activity provided an opportunity to present and revisit Winoa’s essential safety fundamentals. It also included a reminder about Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), highlighting its role in protecting employees against workplace hazards and the importance of using the appropriate equipment correctly and consistently.

By reinforcing these fundamentals, the activity encouraged everyone to keep safety at the forefront of their minds and apply the right practices in their daily work.

Think First: Stop, Think and Act Safely

The “Think First” game encouraged participants to pause and think before acting. Anticipating potential hazards, assessing situations and considering the consequences of our decisions are essential steps towards preventing incidents.

The activity reinforced a simple but powerful message: taking a moment to think before acting can make a difference to our safety and the safety of those around us.

Visual impairment simulator: Raising awareness of eye health

A visual impairment simulator allowed participants to experience simulated effects of certain eye conditions. This activity helped raise awareness of how changes in vision can affect everyday life and highlighted the importance of taking care of our eyes.

It also encouraged participants to be proactive about their eye health and seek professional advice and regular eye examinations when appropriate. By connecting an interactive experience with a personal health message, the activity reminded everyone that prevention extends beyond workplace hazards to our overall well-being.

Together, these activities addressed a broad range of topics, from fire prevention and visibility to protective equipment, risk awareness and personal health. Each offered a different way to engage in safety and encouraged participants to put what they learned into practice.

Putting Our Health & Safety Principles into Practice.

Health & Safety Week reflects the principles set out in Winoa’s Group Health & Safety Policy. Identifying risks, engaging employees, sharing best practices and continuously improving working conditions are essential to building a strong and sustainable safety culture.

Our approach is based on the belief that safety must be integrated into every decision and every task. It requires visible management commitment, employee participation, risk assessment and a continuous effort to identify and address unsafe situations.

One Global Commitment, Shared by Everyone.

From one site to another, Health & Safety Week brings people together around a common goal: making safety a natural part of how we work.

Although activities may differ depending on local needs and priorities, the commitment remains the same across Winoa. Interactive learning creates opportunities for colleagues to exchange ideas, learn from one another and reinforce the importance of looking out for each other.

This collective approach is central to our annual Health & Safety Week, which addresses different prevention topics over time. Previous editions have included initiatives focused on hand protection, safe behaviours and the importance of making safe choices.

Every observation, every discussion and every action can make a difference. Building a safer working environment is a collective effort that involves everyone employees, temporary workers, contractors and visitors alike.

Safety Starts with Each of Us.

Health & Safety Week is an important reminder that safety cannot be limited to a single event. It must guide our decisions and behaviours every day.

A big thank you to all Winoa teams who participated in these activities, and to everyone who helped organise them. Their commitment and involvement help make safety a shared priority throughout the Group.

Together, we continue working towards our common ambition: zero injuries and occupational illnesses.

Because at Winoa, Safety is my Choice.
