Rocío Güereque

Regional Sales Manager

Question : Can you briefly walk me through your journey at Winoa, from joining the group to your current role and how your responsibilities evolved over time?

Rocío Güereque : When I joined Winoa, I started in a technical sales role. I work in the field, visiting plants and supporting customers directly in their processes. Being a woman in industrial field sales is not very common, so at the beginning I had to prove my technical knowledge and build trust step by step.

Over time, I gained more experience and confidence. I started to manage more technical projects, lead meetings, and support customers in complex situations. Today, I have a stronger role. I combine technical knowledge, sales strategy, and close contact with customers in the field.

Question: What was the turning point where you felt trusted to take on larger, more complex projects?

Rocío Güereque :The turning point was when I was assigned bigger projects and more demanding customers. I was trusted to represent the company in technical discussions and important decisions. For me, this was very meaningful, especially working in a field where most professionals are men. It showed that my work and results were valued.

Question: What motivated you to take on responsibilities beyond your original job scope?

Rocío Güereque :I was motivated to show that I could bring value, not only as a salesperson, but as a technical partner. I wanted to demonstrate that gender does not define capability. I focused on preparation, learning, and understanding the customer’s process deeply. That pushed me to grow and take more responsibilities.

Question: How did Winoa support you when facing difficulties?

Rocío Güereque :Working in the field can be challenging, especially as a woman in heavy industry. Winoa supported me by trusting my decisions and giving me space to grow. When I needed help, I could ask for support from colleagues and managers. That support was very important for my development.

From my experience, Winoa recognizes people based on performance, commitment, and results. I felt that my work in the field and my technical involvement were truly noticed. The opportunities I received came from consistent work and taking responsibility.

Opportunity & attractiveness angle

Question: What message would you give to someone who feels they might be “overqualified” for a role they are offered?

Rocío Güereque : Sometimes, when a person receives a job offer, they are not sure if the role is right for them. Some people may feel overqualified, while others may feel not qualified enough. Both feelings are normal. If someone feels overqualified, my message is: look for a role that matches your skills and experience, and that gives you a real challenge. It is okay to want a job where you can grow and use your full potential. If someone feels not qualified enough, remember that: many opportunities include space to learn. You do not need to meet 100% of the requirements to do a good job. If the role interests you and you are willing to learn, it can be a great chance to develop new skills.

I think Winoa believes in giving people opportunities to develop their talents. They value potential and encourage employees to explore new roles, learn, and move forward in their careers. Their support helps individuals gain confidence and discover what they are truly capable of. In both cases, the most important thing is to understand your value, trust yourself, and choose the path that feels right for your professional future.

Question: How does Winoa enable employees to move from local roles to European or group-level responsibilities?

Rocío Güereque : Being part of a global company and staying closely connected with colleagues from different parts of the world makes you more adaptable to different cultures, ways of thinking, and ways of working. Over time, these differences stop feeling like barriers and become opportunities for professional growth. But it is not only about work; it is also personal, because it helps you grow as a person and build valuable relationships with people from very different backgrounds.

Additionally, during yearly meetings with managers and HR, we openly discuss satisfaction, career aspirations, and the types of projects we would like to work on. This transparent dialogue helps create concrete opportunities to move from a local role to a European or group-level position.

Question: Why do you think Winoa is a good environment for people who enjoy complexity and challenge?

Rocío Güereque : Being part of a global company creates another level of challenge. We collaborate with colleagues from different countries, communicate in English, and share knowledge across teams. This pushes us to constantly learn and adapt.

In addition, our job often requires traveling, sometimes to remote locations, and being ready to face different situations in the field. You have to be flexible, curious, and willing to step out of your comfort zone.

For people who enjoy learning, solving problems, and working in an international and dynamic environment, Winoa offers many opportunities to grow both professionally and personally.

You also need to adapt your attitude depending on the customer, the team, or the cultural context. This continuous international communication and need for flexibility make Winoa a stimulating environment for people who enjoy complexity and challenge.
