Shot peening center in India: Winoa-2Effe celebrates its first year of operations
One year ago, on June 25, 2024, Winoa reached a new strategic milestone with the inauguration of its first shot peening center in India, located in Pune, in partnership with 2-Effe Engineering,. This site, named Winoa-2Effe, reflects our ambition to bring our expertise closer to major industrial players in the region, while meeting growing demands for quality, performance, and reliability.
Today, we celebrate a first year marked by growth, technical achievements, and human success.
Key milestones of the Winoa-2Effe shot peening center in India
Since its official launch in June 2024, the Winoa-2Effe shot peening center in Pune has undergone steady development, marked by several significant technical and organizational milestones. Below are the key highlights from its first year of operations:
- April 2024: completion of construction work on the facility.
- June 2024: official inauguration of the center in partnership with 2Effe.
- November 2024: ISO 9001 certification obtained, validating our quality management system.
- December 2024: first customer project completed.
- January 2025: team expansion to 15 staff members (compared to 2 at launch).
- February 2025: launch of the XRD service (residual stress analysis by X-ray diffraction).
This steady progression reflects the team’s commitment on the ground and the ambition to deliver technical solutions close to the needs of regional industries
Industrial applications for strategic sectors
Over the past year, the Winoa-2Effe center has carried out shot peening services for 14 different clients.
These projects involved leading players from the following sectors:
- Automotive
- Defense
- Oil & gas and mining
- Urban transportation
More recently, the center began processing large transmission components for the Pune metro project, in collaboration with Siemens. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting local industrial development and strengthening the regional supply chain.
The technical applications are diverse, including engine components and parts used in heavy-duty or specialized vehicles, depending on client requirements.
A team trained to meet the requirements of shot peening and XRD analysis
The development of the Winoa-2Effe center has been accompanied by the rapid growth of its team. In just one year, the workforce increased from 2 to 15 people, including 7 full-time employees and 8 external contractors.
This expansion involved:
- The reinforcement of key roles: quality, production, laboratory, and maintenance.
- The technical upskilling of the management team: in January 2025, Rehan Ahmad (Quality Manager) and Jagdish Kokate (Workshop Manager) completed a FAA-approved shot peening course organized by MFN in Mumbai.
- The launch of the XRD service in February 2025, managed by an in-house team trained in residual stress analysis using X-ray diffraction.
These efforts reflect a continuous investment in building local expertise and autonomy, ensuring a high level of quality and service for our clients.
Expanding shot peening capabilities and aiming for technical excellence
After a solid first year, the Winoa-2Effe center is continuing its development with two main priorities:
- Strengthening the machine base to better meet clients’ specific needs and increase production capacity.
- Pursuing our quality approach, following the achievement of ISO 9001 certification in 2024, with the objective of now obtaining NABL accreditation (India’s equivalent of ISO 17025), ensuring the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
These initiatives are designed to enhance our technical service offering and support local industries in their pursuit of reliability, traceability, and performance.
