Shot Peening Day in the Czech Republic
The Shot Peening Day, held in the Czech Republic, brought together industry professionals to discuss shot peening technology, residual stress analysis, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. The event combined technical presentations, practical workshops, and open discussions, creating an excellent environment for knowledge sharing and business development.
Strong Technical Exchange and Practical Workshops
The event featured high-quality technical discussions, experience sharing, and practical demonstrations. Participants actively engaged in workshops and open exchanges, creating an interactive environment focused on real industrial challenges and potential solutions.
New Business Opportunities
The event resulted in several promising business opportunities and concrete next steps with participating companies.
With TASO, sampling has already been completed on 16 prototype parts. Discussions confirmed the intention to establish long-term cooperation in shot peening services. If the final results meet all requirements, the project could generate approximately 2,000 parts per year at a value of around €3 per part.
AXTONE, a leading spring manufacturer, provided components for XRD analysis during the event. An agreement was reached for XRD measurement services valued at approximately €6,000.
Discussions with Voestalpine Railway Systems Poland led to an agreement on shot peening trials for railway clips, as well as XRD measurements to evaluate the results. In addition, cooperation was established with the Poznań University of Technology for paid research activities related to the PhD project of one of the attendees.
Building Strong Relationships
A key factor contributing to the success of the event was the networking program organized the day before. Participants enjoyed a guided city tour followed by a group dinner, creating a relaxed atmosphere that helped build trust and strengthen relationships.
As a result, the discussions during the event were particularly open and productive. The informal interactions facilitated deeper technical exchanges and laid the foundation for future collaborations.
With several projects already underway and promising partnerships emerging, the event successfully highlighted the growing importance of shot peening and residual stress analysis in modern industrial applications.
